Architecting.
Is that even a word?
I heard that alleged word for the first time the other day during a radio commercial.
The commercial was for some sort of IT company that was advertising some kind of backup service. (I think. I wasn’t paying much attention until my ears started to bleed when I heard the word “architecting.”)
The commercial used a phrase something like this: “Accurate information is needed for architecting a solution.”
Architecting? Really?
Whatever happened to normal words, like designing? creating? developing?
Part of me is hoping some of you have heard this, too, and can commiserate. But another part of me is hoping that I’m the only one who has been inflicted with this alleged word. I’m afraid to even Google it!
Ick!! My latest beef is when people add “-preneur” to the ends of words. Makes me cringe.
Maybe George W helped constructify that advertommercial.
