I spend a fair amount of time on boats.
But I don’t spend a ton of time on boats. That means I sometimes get disoriented. I’m not always 100 percent sure of where I am.
The iPhone, of course, has a solution. I feel dumb I didn’t think of this before today.
While out in the Upper Chesapeake Bay, I opened the map app and had it find my location.
Bingo! There was a little, pulsing blue dot, showing exactly where I was. I did a screen capture (hit the circle button on the front and the power button on the top simultaneously) to have a record.
I’m sure this doesn’t work well in the boonies where cell phone reception is poor. But it worked perfectly for me between the Bay Bridge and Baltimore.
